The windows registry is the essence of the computer, perpetually modifying and developing in size. Pretty much every time that you change anything on your computer, such as when installing / deleting programs and modifying system settings, the registry changes and updates too.
Due to the size of the task that it does, and the amount of changes and updates that it has to handle, the windows registry will, over time, become out of sync with the current settings on your computer. It will look for outdated files that no longer exist and it will have stored up redundant settings that are no longer applicable. When this happens, the overall performance of your computer is negatively affected.

Fixing registry errors manually is a cost effective way to solve the problems on your computer, as it only costs time. However, it’s not always the best option, as it involves a high risk of failure, even if you know what you are doing.
To start the process of manually fixing registry errors, select “Run” from the start menu. Then enter “Regedit”. However, you have to make sure that you do not fine-tune anything unless you are aware of the end results.
A safer alternative to manually fixing registry errors is to use a registry repair program to do it automatically for you. They are easy to set-up and use and are very hands of. You literally just need to run a scan and repair and then wait whilst it makes the necessary registry changes for you. On completion of this, your computer will then be back running at its optimal speed.
