Die Hard: In position to commit the perfect crime, terrorists have commandeered a Los Angeles high rise, and are holding everyone hostage. There is $460 million in the corporate safe that the terrorists want. Everything is going according to play. Uninvited, so the terrorists don’t know he is there New York cop John McClane is the lone hope to stop the terrorists.
Irreversible: “Debatable” doesn’t start to explain this gross, over the top, rape and revenge story, told in look backs, spotlighting occurrences around the defiling of gorgeous Bellucci. Graphically vicious, even by modern-day guidelines, this hyped up exploitation film characterizes a lengthened rape scene and cruel kill that’s difficult to endure. Cast includes Monica Bellucci, Vincent Cassel, Albert Dupontel, Philippe Nahon, and Jo Prestia. (95 minutes, 2002)
The Doughgirls: This comedy is another story of crowded wartime Washington with newlyweds Carson and Wyman on a chaotic honeymoon. Arden stands out as Russian army officer. Cast includes Ann Sheridan, Alexis Smith, Jane Wyman, Eve Arden, Jack Carson, Charlie Ruggles, Alan Mowbray, Craig Stevens, and Regis Toomey. (102 minutes, 1944)
For Love Alone: Pleasantly filmed romantic tirade, set in the 1930s, with Australian university scholar Buday falling in love with her professor Knitting; even albeit he treats her badly, she follows him to England. Neill does well as a completely variant gentleman who enters her life. Movie is based on the novel by Christina Stead. Cast includes Helen Buday, Sam Neill, Hugo Knitting, Hugh Keays-Byme, and Naonti Watts. (102 minutes, 1986)
Rollerball: Incredible -looking although disheartening tirade of the 21st century; Caan is the victor at a vicious game in a civilization where bloodshed ha~ been outlawed. Filmed in Munich and London and adjusted by William Harrison from his tale Roller Ball Kills, this movie rocks. Cast includes James Caan, John Houseman, Maud Adams, John Beck, Moses Gunn, and Ralph Richardson. (122 minutes, 1975)
Danny Deckchair: Gently amusing Capra-romantic fantasy of one of life’s “little individuals,” Danny Morgan fans, a cement-truck driver who improbably flees his everyday presence. On a lark, he ties some helium-filled balloons to a grass chair and hovers through the Mecca’s. Clarke is a find as Danny’s determining lady friend. Cast includes Rhys Fans, Miranda Otto, Justine Clarke, Rhys Muldoon, , Anthony Phelan, John Batchelor, and Alan Flora. (90 minutes, 2003)
Horton Hears A Who: A wonderful Dr Seuss story makes it to the big screen. Horton the elephant is the only one who can hear the people who live on a ‘speck’, which he has put on a flower. His job is to find a safe place for the speck, so the little people can avoid the impending disaster.
