The basic types of crops are Animals, Trees, and Regular Crops which you need to plant . The only topic that will be discussed in this particular section is trees . If you want to get further info about the other two crops , go to their individual articles .
The trees never rot unlike the seed crops which rot . You put a tree on your property , it will mature , and you can harvest it at whatever time you want to . They are highly decorative and are a great way to personalize your farm . Trees only make a small income , making it one of the disadvantages of growing trees . Each harvest may only sell for 20-80 coins whereas the tree itself will make you spend 400 coins . Try to wait for friends to give the trees to you; if people aren’t, place a signpost on your farm asking for particular trees which are available through the free gift system . You should also remember that trees take several days to become full grown . They are NOT a quick money maker .
When you’re selecting your trees, take a moment to think through your Farmville goals . Are you playing this game to see just how many coins you can get in as short a time as possible ? Do not bother with trees if that is your aim . Plant berries instead and look at your account balance increase greatly . They’re an excellent selection if you’re looking to use the trees for decorative purposes and you if you are not in a rush to receive coins .
Farmers who leave the game for long periods of time and then come back to it (e.g. a couple days or weeks) will also be fond of trees and animals . You can delay harvest of trees and animals —seed crops rot if you don’t harvest them right away . Plan well and you’ll never have to clear a whole field of rotten plants ( very dull way to spend an evening) !
